Heroes Night is a Norse pagan celabration honoring fallen heroes.
Celabrants offer toasts to fallen heroes, usually relitives or if
one has no fallen relitives then one that they admire.
This is the toast I offered, Heroes Night, 1997.

They came from a land gone soft.
Their bodies were trained as warriors, their reflexes and reactions too-
But not their minds.
They went off to war.
They lived as warriors... only to come back to a society that rejected
them.
The minds were cracked...
Hail! Hail to the fallen warriors who still walk amongst us !
Even as I write these words without speaking them I feel their pain,
For in this city they are many.
